DESCRIPTION:Shearing’s done and now there are multiple bags of fleece hanging out in the barn/garage/basement. Now what to do? \nThis seminar will show you how to organize your fiber to get the best product(s) made from it. We will spend some time going over what the mill needs to know so you are prepared to answer the mill owner’s questions. Discussion of the options available to you as you decide where to send your fiber. \nThis is geared to anyone who is unsure of the best use of the fiber that their animals have produced for them. \nCome dressed comforably in work clothes since we will be skirting and sorting fiber. \nPlease bring a lunch. Water will be provided.\nPam came to alpacas from the fiber side and remains fiber focused. She was an instructor in SGC–Sort\, Grade\, Class–certification course through SUNY Cobleskill. As a lifetime knitter\, she can explain yarn types\, blends and what the mill needs to know to make your fiber into great yarn.

DESCRIPTION:April 6th from 8-2–rain or shine is the date of our annual shearing day.\nWe have a new food truck this year–Munchie’s Food Truck. The menu items have not been decided yet but he gets great reviews and recommendations. If you’d like a preview\, Jay has a permanent stand at the Shillington Farmers Market. We look forward to working with Jay and his team.\nNow that the date is set\, we will be contacting other vendors to see if they are interested in setting up–be on the lookout for updates. \nAs always\, if you would like to help with the animals\, please wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind if they get dirty.  We are grateful that so many help us on this important day for the animals and for the farm.
