Become one of the Tree Tenders® restoring and tending your part of the forest. \nWHEN \nWednesdays\nJanuary 17\, 2024 – February 28\, 2024\nNoon – 1 p.m. \nSince 1993 PHS has trained over 4\,500 Tree Tenders® in 150 Pennsylvania neighborhoods. Since 2004\, the program has been supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. In 2008 the program expanded to Pittsburgh and smaller metropolitan areas\, and since 2013 it has been available statewide. Nearly 3\,000 additional Tree Tenders® have since been trained. \nEach participant will receive a hardcopy of the Tree Tenders® Handbook\, published by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. \nWho is this for? \n\nShade Tree Commissions\nMunicipal Officials and Staff\nCommunity Volunteers\nArborists and Landscape Architects who work with Municipalities\n\nWhat will you learn? \n\nHow Trees Work\nEcosystem Benefits of Trees\nProperly Planting and Caring for Trees\nTree Identification\nTree Stressors\nOrganizing Volunteer Tree Projects\n\nCredits Available \nISA Arborist CEUs will be provided for those who attend live sessions.
