SUMMARY:Complying with the New U.S. Treasury “Beneficial Ownership Information” Filing Requirements
DESCRIPTION:Join us Wednesday December 18th at noon to hear from Penn State Ag and Shale Law Staff Attorney Brook Duer as he discusses the impacts of the New U.S. Treasury “Beneficial Ownership Information” Filing Requirements on agricultural businesses. \nEffective January 1\, 2024\, a new federal law called the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) requires defined business entities\, including many small or even one-person businesses\, to report information about the individuals who ultimately own or control them (also known as their “beneficial owners”) to the U.S. Department of the Treasury. This applies to corporations\, limited liability companies or any other entity that required filings with the Pennsylvania Department of State (or another state’s equivalent) for its creation. This new filing\, which can be done entirely on-line\, is called “Beneficial Ownership Information” or “BOI” for short. January 1\, 2025\, is the deadline for businesses to make their BOI filings if the entity was formed prior to January 1\, 2024. \nThis webinar is intended to quickly review everything you need to know about this new legal requirement and to find out about the resources available to help you complete this filing on time. \nMore information and registration: https://pasbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/31975
