Get Your Fiber to the Mill

Shearing’s done and now there are multiple bags of fleece hanging out in the barn/garage/basement. Now what to do?

This seminar will show you how to organize your fiber to get the best product(s) made from it. We will spend some time going over what the mill needs to know so you are prepared to answer the mill owner’s questions. Discussion of the options available to you as you decide where to send your fiber.

This is geared to anyone who is unsure of the best use of the fiber that their animals have produced for them.

Come dressed comforably in work clothes since we will be skirting and sorting fiber.

Please bring a lunch. Water will be provided.
Pam came to alpacas from the fiber side and remains fiber focused. She was an instructor in SGC–Sort, Grade, Class–certification course through SUNY Cobleskill. As a lifetime knitter, she can explain yarn types, blends and what the mill needs to know to make your fiber into great yarn.
