Composting offers an effective, environmentally responsible solution for managing animal mortalities, offal, and other waste directly on-site, transforming them into a valuable product when handled correctly. During Composting Basics for Animal Producers and Processors, Penn State Extension experts will guide participants through the fundamentals of building a successful compost pile, whether using small bins or managing large windrows. Designed for those new to composting as well as those seeking a practical refresher, this session will share essential tips, techniques, and best practices to help ensure composting success.
