About the Live Webinar
Silage, dairy, and livestock producers can gain practical guidance on preparing equipment and storage for a successful corn silage season. Agricultural Engineer Extension educator John Tyson will instruct participants on silo safety and preparation, and Agronomy Extension educator Andrew Frankenfield will discuss corn planter and harvester setup, maintenance, and component replacement. These skills help ensure timely planting and harvest while maintaining forage quality and supporting profitability.

Corn silage is a cornerstone of dairy and beef production in Pennsylvania, but producing it profitably requires careful management. This series offers practical, research-based guidance on every step of the process—from hybrid selection and planting strategies to harvest timing, storage, and feeding. Designed for both experienced growers and those new to silage production, the sessions provide insights to help maximize yield, enhance quality, and support profitability across Pennsylvania’s diverse growing conditions.
