Blacksmith Day

FreeThis will be the 10th year for our public demo and education day held at Old Dry Road Farm near Blue Marsh Lake, Wernersville, PA (Berks County) on Saturday August 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is a free, fun, family event to promote the craft of blacksmithing.
There will be forging stations set up for demonstrations and for open forging by members of the public.
For children there will be forging sessions using clay (no fire) to experience what forging is like.
Over the lunch hour there will be a forging contest for chapter members and others to partake in.
A food truck will be on site for food purchases.
Tailgating and sales: no charge for traditional “tail-gate sales” of used equipment, etc out of your vehicle. $20 fee must be paid to Old Dry Road Farm for other sales (selling your forged products, commercial sales, other craft sales, etc)

This will be a big public event for our chapter, so tell friends & family, and publicize it far & near.
Dog friendly event. Held rain or shine.

From Lehigh Valley: Rt 222 South – Merge onto US-222 S via the ramp to Lancaster – go 6.3 miles and take the exit toward Spring Ridge Dr – go .2 miles and turn right onto Papermill Rd. – go .2 miles and turn left to stay on Papermill Rd. – go 1.1 miles and turn left onto Rebers Bridge Rd. – go 1 mile and continue straight onto what is now Brownsville Rd. – go 1.7 miles and turn right onto Highland Rd. – go slow for .6 miles to the destination.
Allentown/222 North – once you are on Rt 222 North, go 1.2 miles to the Spring Ridge Drive exit – turn left onto Spring Ridge Drive – go .1 miles and turn right onto Papermill Rd. – go .3 miles and turn left to stay on Papermill Rd. – go 1.1 miles and turn left onto Rebers Bridge Rd. – go 1 mile and continue straight onto what is now Brownsville Rd. – go 1.7 miles and turn right onto Highland Rd. – go slow for .6 miles to the destination.
From Lancaster Area: Rt 222 North – Take the PA-724 exit toward Sinking Spring – turn left onto PA-724 W/Shillington Rd – go 1.3 miles and turn left onto US-422 W/Penn Ave – go 1.3 miles and turn right onto Green Valley Rd. – go 2.5 miles and turn left onto Brownsville Rd. – go .8 miles and turn right onto Highland Rd. – go slow for .6 miles to the destination.
From Rt. 422 (Hershey): Take 422 East to Wernersville – turn left onto N. Church Rd. (note: this will be at the far end of Wernersville, and will be one block after Bucks St. which is also on the left. If you see the Phoebe Berks Village, a large modern retirement center on left, you went a block too far) – go 2.6 miles and turn left onto Brownsville Rd. – go .2 miles and turn right onto Highland Rd. – go slow for .6 miles to the destination.
