Dairy Cow Signals with Hue Karreman
John Ebersol Farm
378 Bunker Hill Rd
Strasburg, PA 17519
October 4, 2024
9:00 AM-3:00 PM
Hear from Hue Karreman and elevate your knowledge of dairy cattle behavior in Lancaster County, PA.
Learning about the holistic health and management strategies for milk and dry cows can help you decide what changes you should make on your farm.
During this workshop, you’ll learn to interpret dairy cow signals, including their physical conditions, how they move, their grazing and barnyard habits, herd dynamics, and more. We’ll begin with a seated presentation, where Hue will share his knowledge and experience with dairy cattle. Then, we’ll have the opportunity to observe John Ebersols’ herd of 100% grass-fed cows. Come with questions and be ready to gain real-life application skills.
Hue Karreman is a pioneer of organic veterinary medicine and a writer of multiple books on organic, natural, and sustainable dairy cattle practices. After spending the beginning of his career in the Lancaster and Chester County areas as a practicing vet, he now farms in North Carolina at Reverence Farms. His dairy herd consists of 75 A2 jersey, 100% grass-fed cows. He has a raw milk herd share, as well as chickens, pigs, beef, and sheep that are directly marketed to customers.
