From Sheep to Yarn with Margi Wright
Learn how freshly-shorn fleece is turned into yarn in this educational and interactive class.
Here’s what you can expect: We will skirt two sheep fleeces, learning what is good for spinning and what to discard and why. We will learn how the fleece is cleaned and do some hands-on fleece washing. We will learn how to hand card or hand comb or flick the cleaned and dried fleece to prepare it for spinning. Finally, both drop spindle and spinning wheel spinning will be demonstrated.
