Join Dr. Sjoerd Duiker, co-editor (along with Andy Clark, known for the USDA-SARE book Managing Cover Crops Profitably) of the forthcoming Cover Crops for Sustainable Soil Management (to be published by Burleigh Dodds in 2025/26), for a state-of-the-art presentation on cover cropping. Drawing on expert contributions from this groundbreaking book, Dr. Duiker will explore proven cover cropping methods, emerging trends, and the impacts of cover cropping on the agroecosystem. This session is designed for field and forage crop producers, crop consultants, and agricultural conservation agency staff looking to advance their practices and knowledge.

About the Series: The “Making Cover Crops Pay” series offers practical insights for cash grain and horticultural operations utilizing field-scale cover crop systems. This year’s series will teach participants how to maximize the value of cover crops by enhancing soil biology, alleviating soil compaction, sequestering carbon, and more. Each session will include a brief Q&A and discussion period, allowing participants to share challenges and explore solutions collaboratively.
