About the Live Webinar
“Managing Corn Silage for Profit: Forage Quality Reports” highlights the critical role of forage analysis in understanding the protein, carbohydrate, and fat fractions of corn silage. Assistant Professor of Forage Production Guojie Wang will examine the key agronomic components these reports reveal about hybrid performance, while Professor of Veterinary Science Robert Van Saun will discuss their nutritional value and role in ration balancing. These insights will help producers and nutritionists interpret forage reports to strengthen silage management and livestock performance.
About the Series
Corn silage is a cornerstone of dairy and beef production in Pennsylvania, but producing it profitably requires careful management. This series offers practical, research-based guidance on every step of the process—from hybrid selection and planting strategies to harvest timing, storage, and feeding. Designed for both experienced growers and those new to silage production, the sessions provide insights to help maximize yield, enhance quality, and support profitability across Pennsylvania’s diverse growing conditions.
