About The In-Person Workshop
Join Penn State Extension to learn how to improve milk quality on your farm. This program will cover why milk quality matters, best practices for reducing somatic cell count, and how to interpret culture results and take milk samples effectively. Participants will also learn to use Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) records to track milk quality and guide culling decisions. In addition, the extension dairy team will share findings from a Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE)–sponsored project that identified the most common milk quality issues on Pennsylvania dairy farms.
This material is based upon work supported by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, U.S. Department of Agriculture, through the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, under Subaward Number ONE24-446-AWD00001359.
Registering before the event is encouraged and appreciated!
