Celebrate the Magic of the Season at The Borough of Wyomissing’s Annual Lighting of the Greens Event

WYOMISSING, PA — The Borough of Wyomissing invites the community to join in the festive spirit at the much-anticipated annual Lighting of the Greens event, taking place on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This cherished holiday celebration will be held at the historic Stone House and the enchanting grounds surrounding the pond.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience as the Wyomissing Band fills the air with timeless holiday melodies, and a DJ playing today’s top holiday songs, creating a joyful atmosphere for all ages.

Event Highlights:

• Live Music: Enjoy the festive tunes played by the Wyomissing Band and a DJ spinning today’s top holiday hits.
• Open Campfire: Toast marshmallows and sip on complimentary hot cider by the warm glow of an open campfire.
• Concessions Tents: Indulge in a variety of delicious treats and warm beverages to keep you fueled for the festivities.
• Kids Activities and Crafts: Engage the little ones with a range of fun activities and holiday crafts.
• Balloon Bending: Witness the artistry of balloon bending, adding a whimsical touch to the event.
• Petting Zoo: Delight in the company of furry friends at the petting zoo, a favorite for animal lovers of all ages.
• Wagon Hayrides: Take a scenic ride through the winter wonderland on wagon hayrides, perfect for creating lasting memories with family and friends.
• Holiday Marketplace: Stroll along the path from the Stone House to the pond and explore the Holiday Marketplace featuring crafts and holiday gifts.
• Santa’s Visit: Experience the magic of the season with a special visit from Santa Claus himself! Capture the moment with photos and share your holiday wishes.
• Community Caroling: Join us as we end the evening with the lighting of the Stone House and heartwarming community caroling. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the festivities and share the joy of the season with friends and neighbors.

In case of inclement weather, a rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3 at the same time.

“This event has become a beloved tradition in our community, bringing friends and families together to celebrate the joy of the holiday season,” said Randy McKinley, Director of Recreation. “We invite everyone to join us for an evening filled with music, laughter and the warm glow of festive lights. It’s a magical time that captures the true spirit of the holidays.”

The Lighting of the Greens is free and open to the public with concessions and holiday craft items for sale. Don’t miss this opportunity to create cherished memories with loved ones.
