Water Cooler Talk: Pennsylvania Harmful Algal Blooms
June 25 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

ABOUT THE LIVE WEBINAR
Harmful algal blooms (HABs) pose serious risks to environmental, human, and animal health—and they’re not just a Great Lakes issue. In Pennsylvania, these blooms are most often linked to the rapid growth of cyanobacteria, naturally occurring organisms that can release dangerous toxins when conditions such as excess nutrients align. During this Water Cooler Talk, explore the science behind HABs, their impact on health, and the role of nutrient pollution in bloom formation. Participants will learn how to recognize and report a bloom and discover practical steps to help prevent nutrient overload in local waterways.
