Why We Should Be Making Small Pruning Cuts — Virtual Workshop
August 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pmFree
ABOUT THE WEBINAR
Details Branch failure can be caused by wind, ice, snow, or a climber aloft. Such breakage can result in costly property damage, personal injury, power outages, or blocked roads. Join us as we explore how loads move through the vulnerable region of a branch union/fork. We then discuss the biology around why small cuts are better than larger cuts and the impacts of decay on wound closure after pruning.
Join us for a one-hour webinar where you can earn SAF credits, ISA credits, and a Certificate of Attendance.
Tuesday, Aug. 29
Noon – 1 p.m.
Who is this for?
- Municipal managers, foresters, and arborists
- Others interested in urban and community forestry
What will you learn?
- Understand how a branch deals with loading throughout the tree structure
- Learn how small cut closure reduces the likelihood of decay and later structural failure
A fee may be associated with the below credits. See the Fees tab for details.
